Trail riding is all about adventures, thrills and fun. Exploring wild places and flowy trails. To get the most out of your ride, you need to have confidence in your gear. This is especially true with your wheels, which play a critical role in the overall ride experience. That’s where the new Crossmax XL comes in. It represents the highest quality aluminum trail wheel we’ve ever built.
The rims are made with our patented Fore technology, which features a fully sealed upper bridge that eliminates the need for rim tape. That saves 30 grams per wheel and does away with the hassle of using tape to set up tubeless tires. The rim has a 30mm internal width, perfect for optimizing the performance of any modern trail tire. It’s engineered with a super strong triangular shape, designed specifically to absorb impacts from the trail. Our Black Shield technology gives them a distinctive finish that protects against scratches and abrasions.
We use 24 straight-pull spokes to further dial in the sweet spot between lateral stiffness and vertical compliance. The Infinity hubs feature a stiffer and lighter construction that’s enhanced by the ultra-reliable ID360 double ratchet system for fast engagement. The wheelset is set up for 6-bolt or center lock disc mounts and is compatible with Shimano HG9, SRAM XD, and Micro Spline freewheel bodies.

Wide, strong rim profile with Black Shield treatment protects your rim against impacts and scratches. New lighter, stiffer Infinity hubs with ultra-reliable ID360 freewheel system for instant acceleration.
More confidence and control on rugged terrain
30mm wide rim is optimized for lower tire pressure, giving you a smoother ride with more traction and control. Triangular rim shape absorbs heavy impacts so you're free to bomb the descents.
Most user-friendly tubeless system
Fore technology fully sealed rim with no rim tape makes it easy to mount and change tubeless tires. Leaving the upper rim bridge intact boosts the stiffness and the durability of the rim.
