Our service
bikesportadventure.com is an online shop where you can browse and buy bicycles, e-bikes, components, clothing and equipment for cycling, running, outdoor and climbing. Buying a product involves searching or browsing categories, reading the product page, choosing size and colour, adding to cart, entering delivery and billing details, choosing shipping and payment (card, PayPal, instalments) and confirming the order. The site also offers a customer account, order tracking, returns and customer service.
The service is provided by BSA LAB S.r.l..
Our commitment
We want the site to be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, the keyboard only, magnification or other assistive technologies.
Legal framework and standards
The e-commerce service is subject to Italian Legislative Decree 82/2022, which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act), and to the AgID Guidelines on the accessibility of services (version 1.0, 4 March 2026). The technical references are the harmonised standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, levels A and AA. As a target we follow the latest version, WCAG 2.2 level AA.
Compliance status
The site is partially compliant. The evaluation of the whole service is still in progress and some barriers are being fixed.
How the service meets the requirements
- Keyboard navigation with a clearly visible focus, never hidden by the sticky header, and a link to skip to the main content.
- Login and registration without cognitive tests; pasting is allowed in email and password fields, so password managers can be used.
- Text alternatives for product images and labelled form fields, including search, cart and checkout.
- Screen reader announcements when a product is added to the cart, when the cart changes and when an error occurs.
- Main menu usable with the keyboard: Enter opens a submenu, Esc closes it.
- Carousels and the announcement bar can be paused, stop on mouse hover and focus, and stop when the device asks to reduce motion.
- Pages usable with zoom up to 200% and on mobile devices; no blocking of zoom.
- Product accessibility information, where provided by the manufacturer, is kept on the product page.
Pages evaluated
Common components (header, menu, search, footer, cookie banner), home page, product list, product page, cart, login and registration, checkout, payment, order confirmation, customer account, information pages and this page.
Known limitations
Below are the known limitations and, where available, an alternative. If you find a problem not listed here, please tell us.
- Cookie banner (external provider): when it opens, keyboard focus is not moved into it and it is reached after the other page elements; the focus indicator on its buttons is faint. Being checked with the provider.
- Main menu: the category menu is very large; to find a product quickly we suggest the search, always available at the top.
- Some header elements (cart, search) are repeated in the code for the mobile version; the hidden copy is also hidden from assistive technologies.
- Some older product images may have a generic text alternative.
- Technical documents from manufacturers (PDF) may not be fully accessible.
- Payment windows of external providers (PayPal, Stripe, Scalapay, Santander) and review widgets depend on the provider.
Technologies used
HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with WAI-ARIA attributes for interactive components. The site runs on PrestaShop.
