GENERAL INFORMATION

What cookies are and what they are used for

A cookie is a text file that a website visited by the user sends to their device (computer, mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet), where it is stored and then sent back to that website on a subsequent visit.

Cookies are distinguished from one another:

  • according to who installs them, depending on whether it is the operator of the website visited (so-called "first-party cookies") or a different party (so-called "third-party cookies");
  • according to the purpose of each cookie: some cookies allow better browsing by storing some of the user's choices, for example the language (so-called "technical cookies"), while other cookies allow the user's browsing to be monitored, also for the purpose of sending advertising and/or offering services in line with their preferences (so-called "profiling cookies").

Only profiling cookies require the user's prior consent to their use.

The Data Controller is responsible solely for the first-party cookies it installs on the Site.

In the section "First-party technical cookies" you can see the types of first-party technical cookies set by the Site.

The management of profiling cookies is described in the section "Third-party profiling cookies".

Retention of consent preferences (Retention disclosure)

Where profiling cookies are set, the preferences expressed by the user regarding the use of cookies and other tracking tools are stored in order to respect the choices made and not to show the consent banner again at every visit to the site.

In this case:

  • the user's choices are recorded through technical cookies and/or local storage mechanisms (for example localStorage) installed on the user's device and/or, where provided by the consent management platform (CMP), through server-side storage systems;
  • this information is used solely to document the consent given, refused or withdrawn and is not used for any other purpose, nor for profiling activities;
  • consent preferences are retained for a maximum period of 12 months, after which consent will be requested again, unless the user changes or withdraws it earlier through the features available on the site.

Where profiling cookies are set, the user can change or withdraw their choices at any time through the cookie banner settings.

First-party technical cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions that amount to a request for services, such as setting cookie preferences, logging in or filling in forms, and browsing preferences.

  • The Site sets browsing or session cookies that ensure normal browsing and use of the Site.
  • The Site also sets cookies that record your consent to profiling cookies and the related preferences. These cookies recognise you on your next visit to the Site so that consent to the installation of profiling cookies is not requested again.
  • Technical cookies are also used that allow you to browse the Site while keeping the choices you have made.
  • The Data Controller also uses cookies that keep track of the Products viewed by the user during the session on the Site.
  • The Data Controller also uses "anonymised" Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This means that the cookies set by Google Analytics 4 only allow statistical analysis, without the possibility of identifying the individual user.
  • The Site also uses cookies that keep the chosen display mode of the Products on the Site.

Third-party profiling cookies

In the cookie banner that appears on your first visit to the Site you can review the profiling cookies set by the Site and express your preferences.

Your rights

Pursuant to art. 13 of the GDPR, the Data Controller informs you that you have the right to:

  • ask the Data Controller for access to your personal data and their rectification or erasure, or the restriction of processing concerning you, or to object to their processing, as well as the right to data portability
  • withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the Italian Data Protection Authority).

The above rights may be exercised by sending an informal request to the contact details indicated in the Introduction.

Disclosure of data

  • The Data Controller discloses data to the company responsible for its advertising campaigns.
  • The Data Controller discloses/shares data with the company responsible for its advertising campaigns and/or with the web agency that manages the Site.
  • The Data Controller discloses/shares data with the web agency that manages the Site.

Retention of information

  • Where the Site uses profiling cookies, the user's behavioural data are retained until the user withdraws consent.
  • Data from technical cookies are retained for the time necessary to provide the service to which each technical cookie refers.
