Air-Liner Road is the reusable insert that improves the performance and safety of tubeless-ready road tires. Air-Liner Road prevents the tire from falling off the rim, protects both wheel and tire from external impacts and promotes pressure retention.

Air-Liner Road completes the Vittoria range of tubeless tire inserts for mtb, gravel and now also road use. Unlike the inserts for mtb and gravel, the road version has a ring shape with a hexagonal section for optimal compatibility with 700c wheels and to favor the pressure seal of the tubeless clincher. The foam material with which the Air-Liner Road is made is soft and shrinks on itself when subjected to the air pressure inside the clincher. Likewise, the material expands in the event of a loss of pressure following a puncture. The material fills the volume inside the clincher and works as a run-flat system, just enough to get you home. In addition, Air-Liner Road allows you to use lower pressures - as it provides more protection - and consequently improves the feeling and driving comfort but without increasing rolling resistance.

Designed for use with the tubeless system, Vittoria Air-Liner Road is compatible with all racing bike tires available on the market and offers the same performance regardless of the tire brand or model. The light material of the insert does not absorb the sealant and does not hinder its operation. The tubeless Multiway Valve supplied with the Air-Liner Road has holes that are wider than normal to allow easy flow of air and sealant.

Assembly and disassembly

The Air-Liner Road bag contains: an Air-Liner Road insert and a Multiway Valve. Tools required for assembly: caliper and clips supplied in the Road Tubeless Tool-Kit.

Check that the tubeless tape is positioned correctly and not damaged;
Insert the specific valve supplied with the insert; for further verification the clincher can be installed and inflated without an insert to ensure that there are no air leaks;
Insert the first bead on the rim; to facilitate installation, make sure that the headband is positioned in the central part of the circle;
Slightly wet Air-Liner Road with water to help insertion;
Insert Air-Liner Road into the tire as if it were an inner tube; be careful not to turn or damage the insert;
Insert the second bead of the tire on the rim, then make sure that the portion of the bead already mounted on the rim is positioned in the center to facilitate its complete insertion, with the aid of pliers and clips;
Once both beads have been inserted, inflate the tire; to facilitate inflation, remove the valve mechanism to allow greater air flow. Make sure that the assembly is correct and that there are no air leaks;
With a flat tire, with the valve mechanism removed, add the liquid sealant to the inside of the tire (use only Vittoria sealant or sealant without ammonia);
Reassemble the valve mechanism and inflate;
Rotate and bounce the wheel to evenly distribute the sealant inside the tire.

Tools required for disassembly: caliper and clip provided in the Road Tubeless Tool-Kit and tire lever.

Deflate the tire completely;
Use the specific pliers to remove the tire bead from the rim by pushing it towards the center;
Insert a clip using the specific pliers every 15-20 cm to keep the band positioned in the central part of the circle;
Continue with pliers, levers and clips until the first bead is completely removed from the rim;
Remove Air-Liner Road taking care not to damage / tear it and remove the second bead from the rim. Some sealant residues can be removed by washing the Air-Liner Road with soapy water.

Recommendations

It is recommended not to travel more than 50 km at a moderate speed of 20 km / h with a flat tire.
Air-Liner Road complies with the weight limits defined by the ISO standard, maximum 125 kg (bike, rider and equipment).
In the event of a puncture and consequent loss of pressure, Air-Liner Road allows you to continue in run-flat mode at reduced speed long enough to reach a place where you can change the tire more comfortably. In the event of a puncture, Air-Liner Road cannot replace a tire with adequate inflation pressure.
Check the condition of the Air-Liner Road insert each time the tire is replaced, even before installing the replacement tire. The dimensions of Air-Liner ROAD may vary in certain circumstances - negatively affecting the effectiveness and functionality of the insert - including:

1) Pedaling with a flat tire: always check the condition of the Air-Liner Road insert after use with a flat tire;

2) Leave Air-Liner Road inside a flat tire even after use: it is recommended to maintain a moderate tire pressure (minimum 1 Bar) even when not in use. It is recommended to replace the Air-Liner Road inserts.
Air-Liner Road can be used safely even with a flat tire - as long as the insert is intact and maintains its original dimensions. The insert must not be modified in its original shape and size. To find out when it is necessary to replace the insert, refer to the table below.
